Make Money With Home Based Business


After you have selected and set up the foundation for your home based business... it is time to begin making money! You need to begin selling! There are many different types of sales, sales processes, and sales techniques; some are more "direct" sales and marketing approaches (knocking on doors, making phone calls, going to the client) while others are more "passive" or less direct (direct mail, email, signage, online strategy, etc.). But, no matter how you do it or look at it you are selling, and for your business to be successful you must begin your selling process. Fortunately most successful businesses large, small and even home based already have a sales strategy that works; so you just need to put the sales strategy into motion.

Tip: This is the area that is the direct cause of almost every failed business. Lack of sales. Businesses fail because they are not making enough money, and if a business has enough sales than it would obviously make money. Most businesses struggle with sales for one of several reasons:

o They pawn the task off to someone else. They focus their time on the administration or service itself... the behind the scenes things. You will fail. Nobody cares about your business as much as you do, and nobody else will have the passion to make sales and build a loyal client base (at least as a home based business; this philosophy changes with different business models).

o They change the system from what has been proven to work with other businesses. Lots of time is put into trying to sale, but alterations have been made to a successful sales plan. Often times these alterations are considered "improvements" or "upgrades". The reality is all home based business owners should focus on a tested and proven sales model until they are profitable. Only at the point of which you have fully maximized the current sales system should you consider "improving" or "upgrading" a tested and proven sales model.

Now that your business is established and you have begun making sales, you will need to effectively balance a delicate cycle of:

o Marketing/Sales (updating materials, completing the sales cycle, maintain relationships, etc.)

o Delivery/Distribution (providing your service or product)

o Company Management (bookkeeping, strategy and direction)

o Learning/Training (you should always be learning more about your business and industry)

Each of these categories is made up of hundreds of specific tasks, and someone can get stuck in any single category for too long!

Tip: Spending too much time in any one area of your business will lead to failure as will spending too little time in any one area of your business. As a rule of thumb it is recommended about 80% of your time should be spent selling. (If you are lucky you will have so much non selling work to do it will make sense to hire someone to help you!)

Internet-Based Business - How To Make Money With A Website


Operating an Internet-based business is one the greatest opportunities you can have.

But for a lot of people, it is a frustrating experience. The key to making money with a

website on the Internet is the result of synergy or synchronicity. That means it will

require you to use a combination of several tools or skills at the same time, to make

money. And there are three tools, when working effectively together simultaneously,

will generate profits for you.

They are:

1. The Right Keywords (Niche). A lot people have different methods for determining

how lucrative a keyword is. Most will use tools that track or compile statistics on

the use of a particular word or set of words. They also may use the number of

websites that are listed in the search engines. But this data can be skewed and

misleading.

2. A Targeted Landing Page. When people enter specific keywords in a search

engine box and click on a related link, they expect to find a landing page that

corresponds with their search term. In other words, your landing page must be

targeted to what people have in mind when they are searching on the Internet. If

not, you will lose them. That is the reason they put in the keyword in the first

place - they want what they are looking for.

A lot of niches are filled with low quality web pages, and the popularity of that

corresponding keyword could give you false information about how popular a

particular niche is. That is why if you are using a particular keyword(s), your

landing page must be of high-quality, and corresponds directly to the keyword(s)

you're using to drive targeted traffic to your website.

3. Testing Keywords Through Marketing. The reason you must test a keyword(s) is

because the data you receive from tracking systems can be skewed.

Remember, a lot Internet marketers are also doing research on specific

keywords, and those results will be included in statistical data. That means the

data from tracking systems can be somewhat skewed because of that. The only

way to really determine the profitability of a particular keyword(s) is to test. The

easiest way to test is to use pay-per-click advertising or article marketing.

Choosing your niche is a very individualized process, so the results will be different for

each person. But to make money with a website, you must always have a clear idea

regarding all the possible keyword combinations potential customers are likely to use

while searching for information on the Internet. That means you must test the keywords

you choose, and determine which one(s) generate the most traffic, and most

importantly, sales.

Your test results, not the number of websites or how large the number that indicates

how popular your keyword is according to tracking systems, will determine if you will make money with a website. The information obtained from statistics should be

used for initial keyword selection purposes only.

If you build your Internet-based business around proven, tested keywords, combined with a direct corresponding high-quality, targeted landing page, you can

make a lot of money on the Internet. Then, all you have to do is repeat the process to

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing - 7 Things You Must Know About This Business


Learning how to make money with affiliate marketing isn't rocket science, it's simply a matter of learning to take the right steps in the right order. Once you've learned how to do a task you'll want to keep a record of it so you can refer to it later if you need to. Eventually, you'll be able to put several steps together and develop a system that makes you money. Of course, there are pitfalls involved with learning affiliate marketing as well. Here are 7 things you should know before you set out on your affiliate marketing journey.

#1. Be prepared to work - A Lot!

I probably just lost half of you, but that's to be expected. You see, there are no magic buttons that will make you rich overnight online, though many snake oil salesmen would have you believe so. Working as an affiliate marketer is HARD and if you do have the guts to stick it out most of you will have invested hundreds if not thousands of hours in front of your computer. That being said...

#2. You need to find a mentor - Asap!

Making money online as an affiliate marketer is no different than learning any other task. What would you do if you wanted to learn how to grow tomatoes? You'd find someone that knew exactly how to do it and learn from them by either getting a consultation or buying their book, right? Well, affiliate marketing is no different. You'll want to find someone that's doing exactly what you want to do and then learn from them.

#3. It takes money to make money

I'm not saying that you have to have $1000 to start out as an affiliate, but there will be a minimum of expenses in order to get you started and then ongoing monthly fees for hosting. Also, the myth about throwing up a website and instantly getting millions of visitors is a lie. You have to generate traffic to your website and although you may eventually get some free traffic from the search engines, most ways of generating traffic will either cost you money or time. Be prepared for it.

#4. Avoid online distractions!!!

This is probably the biggest dream killer of all time. Most people that first start out in this business are overwhelmed by information overload. They get hit with so many offers, opportunities, garbage, scams, etc that they never stick with one thing long enough to make it work and then they end up quitting. How much progress do you think you'd make in the "real world" if you started a new job every week? I can answer that for you. Not much. Find one thing and stick with it until you've made it work!!!

#5. Stay focused

This is similar to #4, but not exactly. What I'm talking about here is focusing on your work. When you are working for yourself it's easy to goof off, procrastinate, etc, but it's very important that you put in at least 1-2 hours 5-6 days per week on your business. This isn't like a job where you'll work 40 hours and get a paycheck. It may be 1-2 months before you begin seeing profits come your way so if you "dabble" at this you'll likely fail because you won't do enough work in the short term to earn the rewards. Trust me, if you do this right, once it starts coming in it will become a steady stream.

#6. Avoid offline distractions!!!

This is the second biggest dream killer - your friends and family. They may have your best interests at heart, or they may not, but they will suck the life out of you and your dreams, if you allow them to. My family was convinced that I was wasting my time and that everything I was doing was a scam. They just couldn't imagine anyone making money without getting a "job" and working for a paycheck. I'm telling you right now that this is hard to do, but you've got to avoid them and avoid the topic at all costs or they'll start to get inside your head. Affiliate marketing works - period! Some people will try to convince you otherwise though. Don't let them steal your dreams.

#7. Take action!

This is another big dream killer. You can have a proven blueprint on how to make a million dollars sitting in front of you, but if you don't learn from it and take action then you'll never make one thin dime. You MUST take action and fail forward. You ARE going to make mistakes as you go along, but as long as you continue to take action and build your business there's almost no way that you can fail.

You can learn how to make money with affiliate marketing, as I said before, it's not rocket science. However, you must treat it like a business, keep learning, stay focused and take action! Good luck!
